Reg joined Black Rhino in December 2016. Prior to joining Black Rhino he worked for Alstom for nine years, initially as the Country Financial Director in South Africa. Alstom’s Power Businesses was sold to General Electric in 2015. Initially Alstom had only Thermal Power activity in South Africa with its primary activity being the construction of the Power Islands on the Medupi and Kusile Power Projects, the Transport business was re-established in the Country to execute the $4 billion PRASA rolling Stock contract in 2013.
Reg was the first local employee for Alstom when they reentered South Africa in 2007, he played a key role in setting up the business to execute the Medupi and Kusile projects. In 2009 he was appointed as the Managing Director of the company which was executing the New Build Projects in South Africa, this was in addition to his Country Financial Director role. He was part of the team that successfully negotiated the $4 billion PRASA Rolling Stock contract, which is one of the largest Rolling Stock contracts in the world. Reg was appointed to the position of Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer of the Joint Venture that was set up to execute the project in 2013.
Reg is a Chartered Accountant and worked in the Industrial Services, Banking and Asset Management sectors prior to joining Alstom.
