Senior Vice President
James has been working with Black Rhino since 2015 advising on the technical aspects of power project development in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy sector developing power projects and associated infrastructure throughout the world. Prior to working with Black Rhino, he was a Senior Vice President Development for Sithe Global and was responsible for the development of the $800 million, 250 MW Bujagali hydroelectric project in Uganda which was financed by a consortium of multilateral development banks including IFC, EIB and AfDB. He also served as a member of the Bujagali Management Committee.
Prior to Sithe Global, he was a Senior Vice President at Sithe Energies and was responsible for the development of over 5000 MWs of projects in the United States, Canada, Australia and Asia. This included the 1600 MW Mystic Station, 800 MW Fore River Station and 1000 MW Independence Station.
He holds a MS degree in Energy Science from New York University, a B.Sc. degree in Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy and is a licensed Marine Engineer (inactive).
