Chris has advised both as external and in house-counsel on project financings worldwide, predominantly in Africa. He trained in London at the international firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) qualifying as a solicitor in 2003 and has since worked in the Project Finance teams of Clifford Chance in Paris and Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg.
As external counsel, he acted for lenders and sponsors on all aspects of infrastructure project development and financing and was named a Leading Lawyer and Rising Star in the IFLR 1000 in 2014 for energy, infrastructure and oil & gas. He also spent 2 years in the legal department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington D.C. doing projects worldwide and 4 years as Deputy General Counsel of CIC Energy Corp., developing the Mmamabula Energy Project in Botswana. He is a native French speaker.
